Ok, so I know how many of you HATE spiders...and I have to admit, they give me the hebie jebbies too but Hampton was the sweetest and cutest spider out there! He loved his costume and I did too because it gave him some extra "padding" when he fell (which he does a lot these days). That spider costume might actually come out a few more times if he starts tumbling more and more. It was really a great "safety net"! None the less, it was a fun first Halloween!

York Family Fall Beach Trip

We had a blast in Watercolor this October. What a great time to go to the beach...the weather was amazing! Hampton was a bit more active than the first time we took him (in July) but we all had a great time. He loved the beach and enjoyed eating the sand!

June 20, 2010 was a special day for Hampton and our family. Not only was it David's first Father's Day, Hampton was baptized at Galloway United Methodist Church. He did so good! His eyes perked up when they poured the water on his head, but he didn't make a peep! He wore the same gown that my sister and I wore when we were baptized. It was very special!

We have had lots of fun introducing Hampton to the water. He LOVES it!! I guess it would be kind of relaxing sitting in someone's arms dipped in the water or floating in a covered raft on a hot summer day! What a life! Too bad we can't remember when we are four months old. But I'm glad I have discovered this "activity" to save us from some of those "fussy" momments...we might be up at the pool a lot more than we thought!

Ok, I know...I'm a HORRIBLE blogger! It's been almost 2 months since my last post and Hampton has grown so much in those past 2 months! I need to do better about staying on top of this blog but life just seems a little busier than it use to be! Ha. We recently celebrated David's 30th birthday! What an old man! Just kidding. We had a really fun party at the house with good food, good drinks and great friends! We had more crawfish than I've ever seen and ended up with plenty left over - we also had lots of beer and wine and somehow we didn't end up with ANY leftovers in that category! I think David had a great time celebrating and was very thankful that Hampton spent the night out for the first time so that Daddy (and Mommy) could party. I really can't believe that Hampton turned a full MONTH OLD last week! It seems like yesterday when I was being pushed into an operating room to have him! It's amazing how the time flies. I guess there is some truth to the saying "time flys when you're having fun!" It has been so much fun getting to spend time with my sweet boy. I'll be sad when realtiy hits and I have to go back to work but somebody has to pay for all these cute clothes that I can't resist buying!!! Ha. Here are a few recent pictures...

Hampton Meets More Friends & Family

Hampton has had some busy weeks meeting more of his favorite friends and family. It was very speical getting to introduce him to his great grandparents. It's not everyday that you have 2 sets of great grandparents - David's grandparents and my grandmother. My Grandmother was so nice to make the trip from Texas to meet her greatgrandson. We had a great visit while she was here and I know Hampton loved getting to meet her! It was also very special getting to show off our sweet boy to David's Grandparents. David's Grandmother enjoyed holding Hampton, she didn't want to give him back! :)

We have enjoyed the visits from other friends around town. We also made a trip to Memphis to see some of my parents good friends. He did great on the car ride - slept the whole way. We also experienced our first "photo shoot". That was a trip! Of course he sleeps ALL THE TIME, but when we were wanting one shot of him sleeping, he's WIDE AWAKE! It was a long photo shoot, to say the least. But we ended up getting LOTS of great pictures, both awake and finally asleep! I can't wait to see the proofs this week.

It is amazing how fast these babies grow up!! I can't believe Hampton will be 1 month tomorrow! YIKES! Anyway, I just wanted to post some updated pictures of our sweet boy. I'm sure more pictures will be posted soon, I always seem to have the camera nearby these days! Until next time, HUGS!!!

This has been a busy first week for our sweet boy. We did many "firsts" and met many people for the first time! Hampton got his first bath - which he doesn't enjoy! He likes getting his hair "washed" but once you go below the face, he screams bloody murder! Hampton also went on his first walk! It was nice to get him outside, although his little head is not quite stable in the stroller, I think he enjoyed the extra vitamin D! Hampton also got to meet some of his friends for the first time. Smith Haralson came over for a visit and we got several great pictures of the two sweet boys. Miriam Jane Rogers also stopped by, possibly a future girlfriend?! We have had a great first week and we have enjoyed every minute of being parents! I know there will be many more 'firsts' to come, so until next time, HUGS!

Hampton's First Few Days of Life!

Here are some pictures of Hampton's first few days of life! We are so thankful to everyone that came to visit at the hospital or sent flowers and goodies! Although the wonderful nurses at the hospital took GREAT care of us, we were so excited to get home! We were very excited to introduce Hampton to our sweet girl, Bella. She has been really sweet to Hampton and has been following us wherever we go! She might be a little jealous but I think she will get used to the new addition! We have had fun getting use to our new "lifestyle" and getting all the baby stuff out to use. I guess you could say our house has been babyfied! We went for our 2 day check up today and Hampton checked out great! He gained 3 ounces! YAY! We're so fortunate to have a healthy baby boy!

Hampton James Blanks

After 10 long months of anticipation, Hampton James Blanks is finally here! YAY! David and I are so blessed to have welcomed a beautiful and healthy baby boy! We sit and stare at him and just smile. It is such a special thing!! Ok, my mushy post partum hormones are kicking in but I am just so happy! :) For those that don't know the story, David and I went for my 38 week check up. They did a sonogram and measured the baby. According to the sonogram, Hampton was weighing 5lb 11oz. When we saw the doctor she was concerned that he was not getting enough nutrients from the placenta with his low weight (so we thought). So we scheduled a C-Section (doctor's recomendation because I was not dialated or effaced and the baby was extremly high, and with the low weight of the baby she didn't want him to go through the stress that an induction would cause) and were told to head to the hospital that night to monitor the baby. So at 6:40am they pushed me into the operating room and Hampton arrived at 7:16am weighing a surprising 6lb 11oz and measuring 19 1/2 inches! So they were off 1 pound, but at that point I didn't care one bit because my baby was HERE!!!! And he was perfect and healthy!!!!!!! We have enjoyed the first few days with him and a couple of sleep deprived nights, but that's expected with a new baby! We can't wait for everyone to meet our little man! I hope everyone has a great week and I'll post some new pictures of our growing boy each week - or at least I'll try :) HUGS!

Well, it's been a really fun project and I'm kind of sad that it is about finished but Hampton's nursery is just about complete! I'm lacking a few distressed frames that I am getting made to hang on the walls but other than that, the only other thing missing is THE BABY! It's funny how much thought and effort you put towards decorating a nursery and when it comes down to it, the baby doesn't even know or care what it looks like! However, I've had a really fun time finding all the different pieces and putting it all together! The bookshelf is full of David's childhood "toys" - his baseball glove and signed baseball, Cuddly Duddly (the stuffed animal on the middle shelf), his wooden "scooter", etc. It was fun getting to use some of his old favorites to display! Thanks Becky for letting me use these things! So for those that have asked, here it is...

I had the best time at my baby shower this weekend! The party was a blast - great food, good friends, sweet gifts & so much more! I am so thankful for my wonderful friends and family that helped put the fun night together. Hampton racked up on some cute and much needed stuff! Thank you to all that came, and for those that couldn't make it, we sure did miss you!

32 Weeks and Counting!

Yep, there I am, 32 weeks and still 7ish more to go! Haha, just kidding. I know, this is gross...but it makes me feel better when I look at things like this....maybe I'm not as big as I think I am after all! You probably figured out this is the Octomom, not me (thanks Helen Stacy for the idea of freaking my family and friends out).

Ok, so this one is really me...an updated belly picture at 32 weeks. Hampton seems to be growing and it is getting less and less comfortable everyday. It's hard to believe I still have 7 more weeks to go! I don't see how I can get any bigger!

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas! Our family celebrated the holiday in Memphis and then David and I came to Jackson on Christmas day to celebrate with the Blanks family. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends to make the holidays so special!

Cheers to 2010! It will definitely be a big year for us! I hope that it brings all of us good health and happiness! HAPPY NEW YEAR! Hugs!

Hampton's 4D Sonogram!

We went to the doctor this morning for Hampton's 4D sonogram. We were truly amazed by the clarity of the images they were able to capture from this sonogram. You could see EVERYTHING! He is really obsessed with his hand and enjoyed sucking his thumb during the one hour "photo session" but we were able to get several good ones of his face. I'm not sure you can really tell who he looks like, but regardless, he looks pretty damn cute to me! :)

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! We enjoyed our time with our families, including my Grandmother who made it up from Texas. It's hard to believe that Christmas is right around the corner! I hope each of you have a safe and fun holiday season!

Hampton James Blanks

Well, it's official...Meet Hampton James Blanks! We have decided on a name, YAY! I'm so glad I can finally call him something other than "Blank Blanks"!

I had a sonogram this morning and everything looked great. He is very camera shy and continues to cross his little legs but she was able to see the "parts" again and she also saw the kidneys (which is what she couldn't see last time and was the reason I got to have another sonogram). He kicked and moved his little arms around while we did the sonogram (the bottom picture above shows him sucking his thumb or something)...it was really neat! Other than that, the doctor visit was good - minus the stand on the scale part!!! It is really disgusting having to get on the scale and read the number that pops up!!

Anyway, we are so thankful that Hampton is a healthy baby! I hope this message finds all of you well!

Belly Bump - 21 Weeks

Well, I'm not one to post "solo" pics for everyone to see but everyone keeps asking me to do so.....well, there you go. THE BUMP! It officially arrived several weeks ago and continues to grow each day! It's no longer about "what are you going to wear today" but "what will fit today"!!! I guess that is just the JOY of pregnancy! I'm only half way there and can't wait until I can go shopping for regular clothes again! But it's all worth it!

I have a doctor's appointment on Friday and they will do another sonogram. I'm excited to see how much he has grown in the past 4 weeks. I will post pictures when I can.

Other than that, everything is clicking along! Nothing new to report. His name is still "Blank Blanks" because we have not come to an official agreement BUT I'm pretty sure my favorite is going to stick. We'll see! I hope everyone has a great week!

IT'S A........

BOY!!!! After MUCH anticipation, we found out this morning that Baby Blanks is a BOY! We are sooooooooooooooooooooo excited!!!!! We also found out this morning that Baby Blanks is ALREADY a little "trouble maker". Here's the story...

We went in for the sonogram at 9am. I was so excited I could hardly stand it! Of course, we start the sonogram and we see the heart, brain, arms, hands etc. So we move down to the leg area to reveal the big question and the little trouble maker down there had his legs crossed "Indian style"!!! He was quite content and had no desire to show us "his stuff"! I was moving every which way to try to get him to spread his legs, but the little booger wouldn't budge! So the sonogram lady told me to drink a coke and a cup of water and come back once I finished. So almost 2 hours rolls by and my bladder is about to BURST! She calls me back and sure enough, that baby was spread eagle revealing to David and I all his "goods"! So yes, we discovered right off the bat (the second time) that it is, in fact, a BOY! Most importantly, we also discovered that I have a very healthy baby in there and we are so grateful! We could not ask for anything more!

No name has been decided yet, and I can only hope (for our marriage's sake) that we can agree on one in a civil manner before Baby Blanks arrives! David has already said that he does not like the names that I have picked out...hmmmmm....this could get interesting! Wish us luck!

I can't wait to start buying all the cute, little boy outfits and picking out everything for his nursery! In fact, I'm off to the fabric store now! I hope David starts consulting people to sell LOTS of butter because this mama is ready to start SHOPPING!!! Until next time, YAY FOR THE BLUE TEAM!

Baby Blanks at 7 weeks and 11 weeks

As most of you alreday know, David and I are expecting our first baby in February! We were a bit shocked at first but the news has finally settled and we can't wait for baby Blanks to get here! David is loving the fact that he has a "sober driver" for the next 6 months!!

I went to the doctor yesterday. It was a typical checkup. They checked the heartbeat and that was about it! The heartbeat was 153 beats per minute. It has stayed pretty steady....7 weeks was 141bpm, 11 weeks was 165bpm and then yesterday. I was most excited about the news that we will be finding out if it is a boy or a girl on September 18! I can't wait to find out so I can start shopping!! YAY! She is letting me come a little bit early because my "excuse" was that I was going to Oxford that Friday and the Ole Miss game did not start until 6:30 Saturday night, giving me plenty of time to go shopping at Oxford Kids! Being an Ole Miss graduate, she laughed and agreed that was a good excuse!

So that is most of the baby news. I don't really look any different, but I feel very different. The pants are getting a bit tight and I invested this past weekend in my first "belly band". Not quite the same excitement as purchasing a new pair of Tory Burch shoes or anything! But I guess you do what you have to do!

I posted our 2 sonograms that we have had done so far. The 7 week pictures are on the right and the 11 week pictures are on the left. It's amazing how fast they grow! I can't wait to see how big it has gotten in two weeks (I will be 17 1/2 weeks). Well, that's all for now!
